Description

The White Industries CLD+ Front Hub is a lightweight, precision-machined Boost Center Lock disc hub for modern gravel and mountain bikes. We machine, assemble, and inspect every hub in our Petaluma, California facility. As a result, the CLD+ delivers smooth performance, lasting durability, and premium American craftsmanship.

The CLD+ traces its heritage back to the original White Industries Ti Front Hub introduced in 1992. For more than 30 years, we’ve refined our hub designs through real-world testing and continuous innovation. Today, every CLD+ carries the same proven DNA: simple engineering, dependable performance, and long-lasting reliability.

The CLD+ is designed for Boost-spaced forks and uses the Shimano Center Lock disc rotor interface. Therefore, it offers fast rotor installation and dependable braking performance. Its lightweight construction makes it ideal for fast gravel bikes. Meanwhile, its rugged design stands up to aggressive trail riding and demanding mountain bike adventures.

Two premium Enduro sealed cartridge bearings keep the CLD+ rolling smoothly mile after mile. They also reduce maintenance, so you can spend more time riding and less time servicing your bike.

Choose from five spoke drilling options, seven anodized colors, and two axle configurations. With 70 possible combinations, it’s easy to build a custom wheelset that matches your bike and riding style. Whether you’re racing gravel, exploring backcountry roads, or riding technical singletrack, the CLD+ delivers premium Made in the USA performance you can trust.

FAQ

Which is better, the CLD+ hub or XMR+ hub?

Neither is “better”. Both share the same internals and the differences really come down to the two different rotor mounting standards: Center Lock for CLD+, and 6-bolt for XMR+.  The bottom line is you can’t go wrong with either hub!

What type of service should I be performing on my hubs, and how often?

This depends on the type of climate you’re riding in, and how often.  To check the bearings, remove the wheel once a month and spin the axle with your fingers to check for roughness which would indicate a bearing/bearings need to be replaced.  In wet climates you can smear extra grease on the faces of the outer bearings to help protect them.  For this, we like to use Sta-Lube Water-Resistant Marine Grease.

Can I get this hub in a 12mm x 100 or 15mm x 100mm Thru axle?

Yes, but that would be a different model called the “CLD” (not Boost)

Can I swap between the 12mm x 110mm axle and the 15mm x 110mm Thru axle? And is that and difficult?

You can swap but you need to purchase a new axle kit.  Axle kits are on the Axle Kits page. Instructions are in the Front Hub Assembly document, but it’s not a complicated procedure and does not require special tools.

How can I restore that shiny silver finish on my polished raw aluminum White Industries parts?

Use “Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish” with a microfiber rag.  Start with heavy pressure and lighten up towards the end.

Can I get these in a custom anodized color or hole drilling?

Unfortunately we do not offer those options.
