Machined, Formed and Welded: Three Manufacturing Specialists Unite to Build Titanium Cranks
April 9th, 2026
Petaluma, CA / Steamboat Springs, CO —Some products can only happen when the right expertise comes together. These new titanium cranksets are the result of a collaboration between three American manufacturers—Brunk Industries, White Industries, and Moots—each bringing decades of specialized knowledge in working with titanium.

The project began with Brunk Industries, whose competence in precision metal stamping and forming has been trusted for more than sixty years in industries ranging from medical to aerospace. Recognizing the opportunity to apply their titanium forming capabilities to the cycling world, Brunk brought together two companies known for their mastery of titanium bicycle components.
“From the beginning, we knew this project would require collaboration,” said Mike Bishop, Director of Product from Brunk Industries. “Titanium is an incredible material, but it demands deep proficiency to use it well. We wanted to bring together partners who represent the very best in their fields and see what could happen when that proficiency was combined.”
To translate the concept into a high-performance drivetrain component, Brunk partnered with White Industries in Petaluma, California. Known throughout the cycling industry for their meticulous precision machining and component engineering, White Industries developed the crank architecture, drivetrain integration, and system compatibility that define the Titanium Cranks platform. Their long-standing commitment to tight tolerances, durability, and serviceability ensures the crank performs reliably for years of riding.
Completing the collaboration is Moots, based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, a company globally recognized for its skill in titanium welding and fabrication. With more than forty years of experience building titanium bicycles, Moots brings a deep understanding of how titanium behaves in demanding riding conditions. Their welding and fabrication ability helped refine the structural integrity, finishing details, and long-term durability of the crank.

Each company contributed a distinct craft to the project: Brunk Industries with titanium stamping and forming, White Industries with precision machining and drivetrain engineering, and Moots with world-class titanium welding. Together, these complementary capabilities made it possible to create a titanium crank that could not have been produced by any one company alone.
The result is this beautiful Titanium Crank—a component designed with durability, fatigue resistance, and refined ride quality in mind. Manufactured to extremely tight tolerances using advanced titanium processes, the crank reflects the shared philosophy of all three companies: build products that are precise, durable, and meant to last.

“This project shows what can happen when specialists collaborate,” said Alec White from White Industries. “Brunk brought the vision and the forming expertise to make cranks possible, and Moots brought decades of titanium welding experience from the bike world. It’s a rare opportunity to work alongside partners who share the same dedication to craftsmanship.”
For Moots, the collaboration represents another opportunity to explore the potential of titanium in cycling.
“Titanium has always been at the heart of what we do,” said Nate Bradley from Moots. “Being part of a project that pushes the material into a new component category—and doing it alongside companies that care about quality as much as we do—was an exciting opportunity.”
The Titanium Cranks also highlight the strength of American manufacturing. Design, manufacturing, and finishing take place across facilities in Wisconsin, California, and Colorado, bringing together expertise from three companies committed to producing products domestically and maintaining direct control over quality.
Now available on moots.com or whiteindustries.com, offered in different configurations from each brand for $1349.00 a set.

This is a limited release—once they’re gone, they’re gone.
A portion of the proceeds from every top cap sold will be donated directly to the NorCal League, helping fund youth cycling programs, coaching, and access to the sport across Northern California.

Supporting the Next Generation of Riders
The NorCal League has been instrumental in growing youth cycling, creating opportunities for students to build confidence, develop skills, and connect with their communities through riding. Their focus on inclusivity and long-term participation aligns closely with White Industries’ own core values.
“Getting more kids on bikes isn’t just about riding—it’s about building confidence, community, and a lifelong connection to the outdoors. Partnerships like this help make that possible,” Terry Curley, Executive Director of the Nor Cal League.
“We believe the future of cycling depends on access and opportunity,” said Heather McFadden, Marketing Director at White Industries. “Supporting organizations like the NorCal League is a direct way to invest in that future and our local community.”
While the top cap is a small component, this project represents something larger—bringing together craftsmanship, collaboration, and community support.
Availability and Variability
The limited edition top caps are available in two styles, Midnight Slick and Spreckles. Now available through Whiteind.com while supplies last for $25.00 MSRP.
Please note each top cap is different, basically a unicorn, unique in its own way.
