Some trade shows are about business. Others feel more like a gathering of friends who happen to be obsessed with bicycles.
BESPOKED Dresden was definitely the latter.
This year, White Industries made the trip from Petaluma, California, to Germany for a week filled with incredible handmade bikes, beautifully crafted components, old friends, new friends, and—of course—a healthy amount of German beer.
From Petaluma to Dresden
Bespoked is a celebration of independent builders, designers, and component manufacturers who care deeply about how things are made. That made it a natural fit for White Industries.
Our products are built around many of the same ideas: thoughtful engineering, precision manufacturing, beautiful finishes, and components designed to last.
But getting a booth across the Atlantic and pulling off a great show takes more than a plane ticket and a pallet of bike parts.
This year, we were lucky enough to partner with Cosmic to make it happen.
A Great Partnership
Working with Cosmic made the entire experience possible—and, more importantly, made it fun.
From the logistics and planning to getting everything set up and making sure the booth was ready for showtime, having a great partner on the ground in Germany made a huge difference.
There are a lot of moving pieces behind a tradeshow that most people never see. Shipping, freight, displays, product, timing, setup, breakdown, and all the little things that inevitably pop up along the way. Cosmic helped us navigate all of it.
The result was a booth that felt like White Industries, even though we were thousands of miles from home.
Huge thanks to the Cosmic crew for being such an awesome partner and helping us pull off such a great show.
We were able to have the procession of how we make a seat collar at the booth and that was also a big hit.
Bikes. Bikes. And More Bikes.
And then there were the bikes.
BESPOKED is the kind of show where you can walk around one corner and immediately stop because something catches your eye. Beautiful custom frames. Innovative designs. Hand-finished components. Clever details. Ridiculously good paint. You can check out the Radavist for all the bike pics!
Everywhere you looked, someone had poured an enormous amount of time, skill, and passion into a bicycle.
For a company that makes components, it’s pretty inspiring to see what builders do with them. We also had our limited edition Desert Sage color to showcase and it was like moths to a flame.
We loved seeing White Industries parts incorporated into so many different builds and talking with the people behind them. It’s a reminder that while we spend our days machining individual components, those parts ultimately become part of something much bigger. They become someone’s bike.
And Yes, There Was Beer
We’d be leaving out an important part of the story if we didn’t mention the beer.
Good conversations tend to happen over good beer, and Dresden delivered. Between the show, dinners, catching up with friends, and the occasional “Prost!”, the weekend had exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes an international tradeshow memorable.
There may have even been a day when a particularly rad Mercedes arrived to get a rider to the show.
No big deal. Just another day in Germany. 😉
Why BESPOKED Is Worth the Trip
BESPOKED is special because it celebrates the people behind the bikes.
It’s not just about the finished product. It’s about the process, the ideas, the craftsmanship, and the people who care enough to obsess over the details.
That’s something we understand pretty well at White Industries.
We make our components in Petaluma because we believe there is value in keeping the process close. Machining, finishing, assembling, and inspecting our products under one roof allows us to stay connected to what we make and how we make it.
Seeing that same passion throughout the BESPOKED show floor was pretty damn cool.
