The ENO hub has long been synonymous with the White Industries brand and remains a sought after item. What does “ENO” stand for? It’s “ONE” backwards and mirrored, a CNC programming error made years ago that we decided was kind of cool. So instead of “ONE”, we say, “ENO”, like Brian Eno. The ENO Disc hub takes a standard threaded freewheel on one side and an ISO 6 bolt disc rotor on the other. The ENO hub comes in three axle variations, each using the same hub shell: one with an eccentric axle, and two with straight axles.
The eccentric axle ENO disc hubs are called “ENO ECC Disc” hubs, and allow you to convert your vertical dropout frame to singlespeed or fixed gear, offering 20mm of total fore-aft adjustment. This comes in a 135mm axle width and uses bolts with stepped washers to hold the hub in the frame.
The straight axle ENO disc hubs are simply called “ENO Disc” hubs. These are designed to be used with frames that have either slotted horizontal dropouts, adjustable dropouts, or an eccentric bottom bracket. They come in 135mm and 12mm x 142mm Thru. The 135mm axle width uses bolts with stepped washers to hold the hub in the frame, while the 12mm x 142mm Thru axle version uses a 12mm Thru axle (supplied by you, to fit your frame) to hold the hub in the frame.

ENO ECC (eccentric axle) Specs
- 135mm axle width
- Fits frames with vertical dropouts that have 10mm slots
- Eccentric axle allows 20mm fore/aft adjustment
- Stainless M8 x 1.25mm axle bolts w/6mm hex sockets and 10mm stainless axle washers
- You may need to also purchase the “ENO Eccentric ISO Disc Caliper Adapter” (Part # ECCALMOUNT available in Hub Parts). As the ENO ECC Disc hub moves through its eccentric adjustment, your brake rotor is also moving along the same path and can cause a situation where the rotor is either too close to (and possibly hitting) the caliper or too far away to retain proper pad/rotor contact. This adaptor allows you to get the caliper back where it belongs. In some situations you may not need this adapter and you’ll find that just by luck your caliper and rotor end up in a position that works fine. So if you’re nor sure, just try things without it first.

FAQ’s
- Can I get the ENO disc 12mm x 142mm Thru axle version with an eccentric axle?
- Unfortunately, no. That would require a completely new hub design which we can’t justify considering the very, very small number we would sell.
- Can I get the ENO disc hub in a threaded axle version with nuts?
- No.
- Can I get the ENO disc hub in a fixed gear version?
- Unfortunately, no.
- Can I use a quick release skewer with the ENO disc hub?
- No.
- 135mm ECC Eccentric axle version uses axle bolts and washers
- 135mm straight axle version uses axle bolts and washers
- 12mm x 142mm Thru axle version uses a 12mm Thru axle (not included)
- No.
- Can I change the spacing on the ENO disc hub to 120mm, 130mm, or 148mm Thru?
- No, the hub shell is designed around specific chainlines and disc rotor spacing.
- Do I really need the ENO Eccentric ISO Disc Caliper Adapter for my ENO ECC Disc hub?
- Not necessarily. In some situations you may not need this adapter and you’ll find that just by luck your caliper and rotor end up in a position that works fine. So if you’re nor sure, just try things without it first.
- If you have the 135mm straight axle or 12mm x 142mm Thru axle, you do not need the adapter.
- Can I get these in a custom anodized color or hole drilling?
-
- Unfortunately we do not offer those options.
