    Fixed Gear Cogs

The White Industries Fixed Gear Cog is built for riders who demand maximum strength, reliable power transfer, and long-lasting performance. Every cog is precision-machined to the same exacting standards that have defined White Industries components for more than 30 years. As a result, you get a drivetrain component that’s built to handle years of hard riding.

Unlike traditional threaded fixed gear cogs, the White Industries Fixed Gear Cog features our proprietary spline-drive interface. Instead of transferring pedaling forces through the hub threads, the splines carry the load. This creates a stronger connection between the hub and cog while reducing stress on the drivetrain.

The spline-drive design also helps eliminate one of the biggest drawbacks of traditional threaded cogs. Because the cog does not rely on threads to transfer power, it helps prevent stripped cog threads and damaged hubs. The result is a stronger, more reliable system that performs ride after ride.

Every White Industries Fixed Gear Cog is manufactured from heat-treated 8620 steel for exceptional strength and durability. An electroless nickel finish adds corrosion resistance while reducing wear, so your cog continues to perform in demanding riding conditions.

The White Industries Fixed Gear Cog is available in both 3/32-inch and 1/8-inch chain widths. Tooth counts range from 13T to 20T in one-tooth increments, making it easy to dial in the perfect gear ratio for the velodrome, city streets, or your favorite training route.

This cog is designed exclusively for White Industries Track and ENO hubs equipped with our proprietary spline-drive interface. Before ordering, be sure to confirm that your hub is compatible, as this cog is not designed for traditional threaded track hubs.

Whether you’re racing, commuting, or building a custom fixed gear bike, the White Industries Fixed Gear Cog delivers innovative engineering, dependable performance, and American-made quality built to last.

  • Freewheel Outer Gears

    Freewheel Outer Gears

When we designed our freewheels we intentionally made them rebuildable rather than disposable.  If you ride a lot, eventually you are going to need a new outer gear.  We recommend replacing your chain (and probably your chainring too) when replacing your outer gear because worn out chains don’t usually work well with new outer gears.

    Specs

    • Made from electroless nickel-plated 8620 case-hardened steel
    • Comes with an Enduro chromium steel bearing installed with snap ring
    • Bearings are are made from chromium steel, and use a special Mobil XHP222 extra high pressure grease
    • It’s a good idea to also purchase a new seal and O-ring when replacing your outer gear, available on the Parts>Freewheel Parts>Freewheel Seals page

    Compatibility

    • If you are switching your outer gear to a 16T freewheel or 16/19T double freewheel from any other size, you will also need to purchase a new lockring on the Parts>Freewheel Parts>Freewheel Lockrings page
      • 16T freewheel or 16/19T double freewheels us a slightly smaller lockring than all the other sizes

      • 16T freewheel or 16/19T double freewheels us a slightly smaller lockring than all the other sizes
    • Compatible with 10 degree/36 points of engagement drivers/systems and 5 degree/72 points of engagement drivers/systems
    • 16T single freewheels work with 3/32″ chains only, not with 1/8″ chains
      • 16T gears do not have enough room at the base for 1/8″ chains to sit all the way down on the teeth
    • Double freewheels work with 3/32″ chains only, not with 1/8″ chains
      • 1/8 chains are too wide and may rub against the adjacent teeth
