The V2 VBC (Variable Bolt Circle) outer chainring is designed for 2x 12-speed compatibility across Shimano and SRAM 9–12 speed drivetrains. That includes Shimano 105, Ultegra, GRX, and Dura-Ace (9–12 speed), as well as SRAM Apex, Rival, and Red (10–12 speed), in both mechanical and electronic configurations.
The Variable Bolt Circle design allows up to five different inner ring sizes to be mounted to the same outer ring, offering flexible gearing without replacing your entire setup. Across the range, that provides up to 33 possible gear combinations depending on your pairing.
The V2 outer ring has been completely redesigned with updated tooth profiles and revised shift ramp geometry for smoother front shifting. It features five integrated shift pins, a replaceable chain catch pin, and recessed inner chainring bolts for improved chainstay clearance and a clean interface.
Like all V2 VBC components, it remains fully backwards compatible with White Industries MR30 series cranks and White Industries direct mount square taper cranks, however it is not compatible V1 inner rings. For a complete set you will need a V2 inner ring and hardware.
