There were a lot of beautiful bikes at MADE. With so many incredible builders and carefully considered details packed into one show, standing out is no small feat.

But this Ibis Ripley SL was not a bike to miss.

The Ripley SL is already a pretty special machine. Built around Ibis’ lightweight carbon frame, 117mm of rear travel, 130mm up front, it is designed to be fast when the trail points up and capable when things get rowdy.

At MADE, though, it was the details that really caught our eye.

A Perfect Match of Performance and Personality

This Ripley SL was finished with a selection of White Industries components that fit the bike perfectly: White Industries cranks, chainring, headset, and seat collar, paired with Astral polished wheels.

It’s a combination that feels right at home on a bike like this.

The polished Astral wheels bring a timeless, almost jewelry-like quality to the build. Against them, the precision-machined White Industries components add another layer of detail without making the bike feel overdone.

The Ripley SL is made in California, with Ibis manufacturing the frame in their Northern California factory. White Industries components are machined, finished, and assembled, in Petaluma. Astral wheels are part of the White Industries family as well, but they are super northern California(cough cough…Oregon). And shoot while we are talking about Oregon, Madrone showed up with their amazing derailleur.

So while this is one incredible bike, it also represents something bigger: Northern California craftsmanship and a shared appreciation for making things exceptionally well.

That connection felt especially appropriate at MADE, where independent builders and manufacturers come together to celebrate the craft, creativity, and obsession that make bicycles so much more than a collection of parts.

Sometimes it’s the combination of a beautiful frame, carefully selected components, and a few really good finishing touches that makes you stop in your tracks.

Paired with White Industries hubs, the bike rolled with quick engagement, legendary reliability, and that unmistakable freehub sound that always seems to draw a crowd.

A White Industries headset completed the front end, tying the entire build together with the same attention to detail and timeless design found throughout the bike.

Sea Otter: Where Bicycles and Speedboats Collide

Sea Otter has always been more than just a bike festival. It is a gathering place for innovation, style, engineering, and cycling culture. If you stopped by the Hudski Chiller Zone, you probably noticed another side of the brand’s personality: a fleet of RC speedboats skimming across the water between conversations about bikes.
