XMR+ Boost Rear

Price range: $426.00 through $451.00

Our XMR+ (Cross/Mountain/Road) Boost hubs are designed around the ISO 6-bolt rotor mounting interface as opposed to the Center Lock mounting standard used on our CLD hub. The Boost spacing allows for wider hub flange spacing which results in better spoke bracing angles. Made in our shop from U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aluminum, they’re available in a range of drillings, colors, and axle configurations.

A question we always get about our disc hubs is, “CLD or XMR? Which is better?”. Neither is “better” than the other. Both share the same internals and the differences really come down to the respective designs having to accommodate the two different rotor mounting interfaces. Bottom line is you really can’t go wrong with either hub!

Most of the time choosing is simply a matter of which disc rotor system you already have on your bike, so your choice is kind of made for you. And if you’re building a new bike, it’s not a bad idea to stick with the rotor system you’re using on your other bikes, just in case you want to swap things around. And to add to it, Shimano and SRAM don’t offer all their rotor models and sizes in both Center Lock and 6 bolt, so be aware of that when speccing out your new rig.

Product Details

As with all our hubs, the XMR+ (Cross Mountain Road Boost) draws on over 30 years worth of hub manufacturing experience and real world testing, going back to the “Ti Cassette hub” we introduced in 1992.  We’ve been doing this for a long time, and every White Industries hub we make has that original DNA in it; simple, durable, dependable. The XMR+ is perfect for Boost spaced mountain and gravel bikes because of their low weight and clean, minimalist look, as well as their robust and durable design.  Designed around the ISO 6 bolt rotor mounting standard, the core of the rear XMR+ is a heat treated, black-oxided 4130 steel axle with aluminum axle ends, rotating on four Enduro brand bearings: two in the 6061-T6 aluminum hub shell, and two in the 6/4 titanium freehub body.  XMR+’s are made here in our Petaluma, Ca. shop, and available in four spoke drillings, seven colors, and five different freehub bodies.
